What Is the Voluma® Filler?
Juvéderm Voluma® XC is a special filler composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the connective tissues and joints of the body. When injected into the cheek areas of the face, Voluma® works by filling in contours lost due to the aging process. The thickness of the hyaluronic acid gel within the filler facilitates a gentle sculpting that helps you achieve a natural, fresh appearance. When you request our Voluma® filler, we will take the time to assess your specific goals and facial structure. We will then formulate a personalized injection plan to give you the natural-looking results you want.
Voluma® Injection Process
Similar to the standard Juvéderm procedure, our Voluma® injections will be aimed at easing the creases in your face to attain a softer, naturally youthful appearance. Voluma® injection sessions are always prefaced with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Shaw. The injection process itself is typically done in under an hour. Though some discomfort is possible during the procedure, most patients consider the pain to be very tolerable. If you’re sensitive to pain and a little worried, we can use multiple methods to reduce your discomfort, including ice and a proprietary numbing ointment only found at our office.
Voluma® Treatment Results
Chiseled cheekbones and a defined jawline are Voluma® facial hallmarks. The Voluma® will smooth out the appearance of your skin and raise depressed scars. In addition, this injectable filler will work with your body to support natural collagen production. You can expect these changes to last for approximately 2 years. Afterward, additional injections may be required.
